Growing Gratitude in Our Community

This year, my practice has led me to reflect on gratitude not just as a feeling, but as a relationship—a relationship with ourselves, with others, and with the places we call home. That’s why I want to highlight one local gem that embodies this kind of gratitude beautifully: 15th Street Farm, our urban oasis right in the heart of St. Pete.
Gratitude for the Land & Local Roots:
15th Street Farm is more than a farm. It is a living example of what happens when people tend to land, community, and nourishment with intention. Rows of leafy greens, vibrant herbs, and seasonal vegetables remind us that so much of what sustains us begins with the earth—and with the people who care for it.
Urban farms like 15th Street Farm strengthen local food systems, support regenerative practices, reduce environmental impact, and provide access to fresh produce in our own neighborhoods. They are a reminder that gratitude can be active. It can look like supporting local growers, learning how our food is grown, or simply pausing to appreciate the roots of our nourishment.
Community is at the heart of yoga, and November offers a beautiful opportunity to reconnect. Whether we gather on the mat, at the farm, or around a shared meal, we are reminded that we thrive through connection.
If you haven’t visited 15th Street Farm, I encourage you to take a walk through their space, pick up vegetables at their stand, or connect with the people who pour love into making local food possible. Supporting local farms is a tangible way to practice gratitude—one that benefits both our community and our wellbeing.
As the year winds down, I am deeply grateful for this community—your presence, your practice, your resilience, and the ways you show up for yourselves and each other. Thank you for being part of this shared journey.
