Creating Space for What Matters Most
As we move into July, we are surrounded by reminders of freedom.
Flags wave, celebrations fill our calendars, and we reflect on the privileges and opportunities that freedom provides.
Yet yoga invites us to consider a different kind of freedom.
Not freedom from responsibilities or commitments, but freedom from the constant pull of doing, striving, fixing, and achieving.
Many of us spend our days moving from one task to the next, caring for others, managing schedules, and carrying mental lists that never seem to end. Even during summer, a season often associated with relaxation, we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed by the very activities meant to bring us joy.
What if freedom wasn't found in doing less, but in being more present?
What if true freedom was the ability to fully arrive in this moment?
To enjoy your morning coffee without thinking about what comes next.
To take a walk without reaching for your phone.
To sit in stillness without feeling the need to be productive.
Presence creates space.
And in that space, we begin to hear the quiet wisdom that often gets drowned out by the noise of daily life.
Yoga teaches us that freedom is not something we earn someday. It is something we experience now when we release our grip on what was, stop worrying about what might be, and settle into what is.
This Month's Invitation
This week, choose one moment each day to practice being fully present. It might be your morning coffee, a walk with your dog, a conversation with someone you love, or simply five quiet breaths before your day begins.
Notice how differently life feels when you're fully there.
Then, join me in this month's Yoga Nidra meditation as we continue exploring Freedom Through Presence—creating space for what matters most.
Wednesday 8-9pm EST
With gratitude,
Kristina
